RIG A JIG JIG happened because Mike was gone and asked me to make some greenhouse crosses for him. Tet. Emerald Starburst was blooming and the biggest, narrowest thing in the greenhouse was Jamie Gossard's Unshakable. This big daylily (11" wingspan) got the best of both worlds. The big green throat makes the red just shine. RIG A JIG JIG makes an eye catching clump. If you use it to hybridize get your pollen the afternoon before it opens completely. It will set seeds, but only on its terms. I recommend opening the bloom the afternoon before it opens to make the cross.
