THE LIZARD THIEF

THE LIZARD THIEF

S.Holmes. Sdlg M395-2 (J1352-1 X J1053) Dormant, Mid, Tetraploid, 9", 18 buds, 40" H, 3-4 Way Branching

THE LIZARD THIEF is an interesting bitone with rose colored petals and creamy pink sepals. The edge is a few shades lighter and lightly ruffled. The green throat blends into a paler watermark. This daylily pinches and twists on a very tall scape. THE LIZARD THIEF makes quite a striking clump. We had lots of rain this summer as a result several scapes had twenty seven buds. The flowers are presented well on the very tall scapes. It has been a great parent in our garden. I hoped for good things from LIZARD THIEF'S pollen parent and was not disappointed. This daylily reminds me of a daylily bush rather than just a plant. If you think the name is a little strange, Barb Buikema can give you all the details. After I finally won a really nice metal garden lizard at the summer meeting silent auction, someone decided to hide it. After enjoying the joke way too much this person, who shall remain unnamed, found the lizard so that it could go home with me.
