S.Holmes Sdlg A474, 4-Way Branching. Tetraploid Dormant Mid 9", 18 buds, 36" H, ((Webster’s Golden Wonder X Megatron)
LEMON STRAWBERRY TWIST is one of the most uniquely colored daylily in our garden. Who would have ever guessed that crossing a yellow and red would produce a clear yellow daylily with a pink edge. The color is a yellow self with a large green throat and a unique pink ruffled edge not normally seen in tetraploid unusual forms. The pinching has been consistent from first bloom to last regardless of temperature and is spatulate from morning to night regardless of the temperature. The pink edge will fade as the temperature approaches 90 degrees. On very cool mornings you will see a pink overlay which fades to pink edges as the temperature warms.
The waiting list for this one includes more round, ruffled collectors than any flower I have ever introduced. It is truly unique. LEMON STRAWBERRY TWIST was a 2011 Junior Citation Winner.
