KING'S PORT has been one of my favorite garden daylilies. It always looks good in the morning through the evening. The substance of KING'S PORT is smooth and waxy. Anyone familiar with me, knows that I prefer a smooth finish on daylilies with little or no creping.
KING'S PORT was named after Kingsport Tennessee, a name provided to me by one of the Tri-Cities daylily society members. We presented our program there recently and were treated to friendly hospitality from the club and personal attention from Susan Okrasinski. Thanks Susan!
Sandy has been using KING'S PORT in her UF hybridizing to add fancier edges to her UF's. I like it also because it is a very easy pod parent and produces clear colored kids with heavy substance.
