S.Holmes. Sdlg G702 {(Bertie Seedling X Waiting in the Wings) X T. Skinwalker} X Elizabeth In Pink
Dormant Early Mid, Tetraploid, 6", 22 buds, 38" H, 4 Way Branching
DOWN BY THE BAY has some pretty unusual genetics. The eye comes from Bertie, a very small daylily and its plant habit and form from Elizabeth in Pink and its big green throat from T. Skinwalker. The color is light pink with a darker pink eye, big green throat and pale pink edge on the petals and sepal. It normally has 4 way branching and about 20 buds, but one summer it had 7 way branching and 38 buds. I know that was a fluke, but what a sight. If you like pinks this will be a nice addition to your garden. The name is a nursey rhyme that my grandson sings and I can't get out of my head.
